Technology that works for the organization that runs on it
Akartis Consulting, LLC is a Chicago-based, minority-owned technology solutions and strategy firm. Since 2009 we have planned, built, and supported the infrastructure and software that small and mid-sized organizations depend on every day.
What we do
Infrastructure
Network hardware, servers, desktops, and email: selected, purchased, installed, and supported, sized for the organization rather than the vendor.
Custom Software
Purpose-built tools when off-the-shelf software does not fit, from sales configurators to internal utilities and automations.
Strategy and Valuation
Technology planning and financial analysis for practices and businesses facing a decision: buy, build, sell, or replace.
Platform Administration
Setup and ongoing administration of the hosted platforms an organization depends on, from email and file sharing to campaign software.
Security
Access control, hardening, and sensible defaults for organizations that do not have a security team of their own.
Products
Chiron, our adaptive textbook for iPad, iPhone, and Mac: it writes books to order and teaches from anything you already read.
Chiron: an adaptive textbook that teaches from whatever you want to learn
Chiron writes books and primers to order, reads the things you already wanted to read, and keeps all of it on one shelf. Highlight a passage in anything on that shelf and the tutor answers with the whole chapter behind it. It runs on iPad, iPhone, and Mac against a server you host yourself, and the source is open under the MIT licence.

Practical work for organizations across Chicago and beyond
Our clients have included a medical practice, a real estate brokerage, a record label, a religious school, a professional audio-visual manufacturer, a political campaign, and a 100,000 square foot arts facility. The common thread is a small organization that needed technology decisions made well and carried through to completion.
